Gunilla has always been very active and has a love of the outdoors, especially cycling. She has practiced yoga since the late 90’s. When she was diagnosed in 2007 with breast cancer, she realised how her yoga practice helped her to become stronger, both mentally and physically. Since then, yoga and meditation have become a very important part of her life. In fact, it made such an impact that she decided to take up teaching to share its benefits.
She sees her spiritual path as that of a ‘Seeker and Explorer of Inner Knowledge and Love’ and she is drawn to a more meditative form of yoga practice.
Gunilla teach hatha, restorative and yin yoga as well as meditation. She also offers wellness coaching on a one-to-one basis or to small groups.
In a former life in the corporate world, she is very familiar with how the daily commute and long hours take its toll on the general well-being and how difficult it can be to achieve that important life/work balance. Gunilla is passionate about helping people find that vital balance and she fully believes that we all have the capacity to live a happy, healthy, well-balanced life. We may just need a bit of assistance and guidance in getting there.
She is a British Wheel of Yoga Accredited teacher having completed an in-depth two-year teacher-training course with The Yoga Academy (Principal Simon Low).
She has specialised further in Restorative Yoga and is a certified Relax and Renew ® Trainer after studying with Judith Hanson Lasater, an internationally recognised expert in the field.
She is a qualified meditation teacher after undertaking advanced training over four years under the guidance of Meditation Master Andrew Henley at Andrew Henley Meditation and Spiritual Philosophy, totalling 1300 contact hours. Andrew Henley is a lifelong meditator who himself was invited to teach after being trained by the Masters from the cave monasteries in the Himalayas over 15 years ago.
The studying and learning is a never-ending process and she regularly attends training events and workshops to deepen her knowledge. If she can’t be found on her yoga mat or meditation stool you can probably find her on her bike somewhere out in the Surrey Hills or surrounding areas (or perhaps in one of the coffee shops along the route enjoying some green tea and a chocolate brownie)!
She has a daily Pranayama and Meditation practice which infuse her teaching and coaching so be prepared to breathe, let go and just be…
