Lisa is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience in both Australia and England. She completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Sciences with a major in Psychology in 1982 at LaTrobe University in Melbourne, Australia. She then undertook specialist training, completing a Graduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Melbourne University in 1986. Further post graduate training included the completion of a Masters of Clinical Psychology in 1991 at LaTrobe University, Melbourne.
Lisa works with children, adolescents and adults. The focus of her work is to assist individuals by offering short term assessment and therapy, using primarily a cognitive-behavioural approach. A very practical, problem-solving approach is used, aimed at helping people to develop the skills to cope more effectively with issues in their daily lives. Some examples include coping with strong emotions such as anxiety, anger or depression; overcoming phobias, obsessions or compulsions; dealing with bullying or conflict; enhancing social or communication skills; educational or vocational testing; confidence building; public speaking; making and keeping friends.
